Las Colinas
Situated within Irving, Texas, Las Colinas stands as a meticulously crafted mixed-use planned community, nestled within the bustling Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Established in 1972 under the visionary guidance of Ben H. Carpenter, a prominent cattle ranching tycoon, it emerged as a pioneering example of planned urban development in the United States. Spanning an expansive land area exceeding 12,000 acres, Las Colinas held the distinction of being the largest mixed-use project in the South.
Today, Las Colinas thrives as a vibrant epicenter with more workers than Dallas’ downtown. At last count, more than 150,000 people worked in Las Colinas for around 7,500 businesses. Notable among these are the Fortune 500 corporate headquarters of industry titans like Caterpillar Inc., Commercial Metals, Pioneer Natural Resources, Fluor, Kimberly-Clark, McKesson, Vistra, Celanese, and Builders First Source.
